On Thursday, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Terry Devis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
At the briefing for the mass media representatives, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that Ukraine properly passed the period of early election and he emphasized that at the meeting.
A.Yatseniuk stated that Ukraine actively cooperates with the Council of Europe. At present our State is to perform a number of actions to implement the commissions before the Council of Europe. Inter alia, the criminal competence is to be reformed. Moreover, the Parliament plans to ratify the Convention on Human Trafficking and Terrorism Fighting.
T.Devis emphasized that Ukraine is an integral part of Ukraine "on geographical, historical, cultural and political grounds", and is regarded as "a vitally important member o0f the Council of Europe".
